Former Dr Who star Colin Baker heads the cast of Dick Whittington opening at Norwich Theatre Royal.

He'll be up against his arch nemesis Davros - creator of the Daleks - played by Terry Molloy, who has also been a member of the cast of The Archers for 34 years playing Mike Tucker. He lives locally at Bawburgh near Norwich.

However, in a cunning twist, their roles will be reversed with CB taking on the role of the rodent rapscallion King Rat and TM playing the kind-hearted Alderman Fitzwarren.

Dick Whittington - the lad who sets off to London to seek his fortune - is played by Nicky Adams while the love of his life Alice Fitzwarren, the beautiful daughter of rich Alderman Fitzwarren, is played by Ali James. Richard Gauntlet (writer and director of the show) is the flamboyant but not, sadly, flameproof, cook who dazzles with culinary skills, while Georgina Todd is Tommy the Cat and Nick Staverson, Idle Jack.

The panto babes and junior dancers come from the Central School of Dancing and Performing Arts and the kind and skilful person that makes the happy ending happier than ever, Fairy Bowbells, is played by Tiffany Todd. Check listings for show times.
