A Norwich band are putting the finishing touches to their first single and album, set to be released in the next few months.

And fans of four-piece Cord will get a sneak preview of their debut tracks during a concert this Thursday at Norwich Arts Centre.

It will be only the second time the band have played in Norwich this year and follows an emotional “fans and family” gig at the Ferry Boat last month.

“We're looking forward to it - it's the first proper gig in Norwich we've had this year and it should be good,” said James Leeds, lead singer of Cord, who signed a five-album deal with Island Records last year.

“We're going to play a bit of new material and mostly showcase the new album,” he said. “The record itself is about 75pc completed and I think it's going to be called Give Me Today.”

The album should be on the streets early next year, with a single, Go Either Way, out in September/October.
