Change at poetry festival

The author Kevin Crossley-Holland has pulled out of the Poetry-next-the-Sea festival in Wells owing to a family funeral.

The author Kevin Crossley-Holland has pulled out of the Poetry-next-the-Sea festival in Wells owing to a family funeral.

Mr Crossley-Holland will be replaced by the novelist and poet Alan Brownjohn, who will appear at 7pm on Saturday at The Maltings, Staithe Street, alongside fellow poet Sarah Law. Mr Brownjohn published his Collected Poems in December to great acclaim.

Festival chairman Caroline Gilfillan said: “Refunds will of course be available to those who have booked tickets to see Kevin but we do hope that people will want to come and hear this wonderful poet.”
