Lister has been compared with a certain Mr E Clapton, and certainly his guitar work is reminiscent of the rock legend.
But Lister has a modern edge too, which prompted the magazine Classic Rock to choose him as one of their top blues-rock artists choices, alongside the likes of Joe Bonamassa and The White Stripes.
This latest album sees Aynsley with a fine band, including John Mayer's guitar player Robbie McIntosh.
Apart from a fascinating acoustic reworking of the Gnarls Barkley hit Crazy, all the tracks on the album have been written by Aynsley.
