VINCE YALLOP
Drum machine maestro Jel, from San Francisco, plays The Marquee in Norwich this Tuesday, March 7, just a few days after the release of his new album Soft Money (Anticon Records).
His crunchy, punched-out beats and swells of low-bit atmospherics have become Anticon trademarks and his live shows sees him playing most rhythms direct, bypassing the sequencer. He raps too!
Main support comes from eclectic Norwich collective The Bells The Bells, who fuse drum machines, country twangs and laidback jams. Their track Twelve-sider opened Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank's Norwich special last week.
Doors 8pm, entry £5.
