Played by Ioan Gruffudd, the 18th century politician was elected to the House of Commons at the age of 21 and took on the issue of slavery in the British empire.
He assembled a diverse coalition taking as he pushed through the legislation, resulting in the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act being passed in parliament on March 25, 1807.
