Continuing its tradition of offering professional entertainment for all the family, highlights at the Station Road venue include the ever-popular Summer Rep season - previewed in last week's Event - which looks to be another winner with five different productions throughout the season. There will also be a visit from the St James Wind Quintet, as part of the Norfolk & Norwich Festival.

Music is the theme throughout May as Terry Chapelle and Friends open with a fundraising Music Hall evening from May 1-3 (Tickets �6). The St James Wind Quintet perform on May 13 (�10, under-26s �5), followed by the Wandring Minstrels performing The Story of Gilbert and Sullivan on May 16 (�10). On May 28 Cawston Brass Band hold a charity concert in aid of Sheringham Woodfields School. This promises to be an entertaining evening of music for a worthy cause (�7.50, under 25s �7).

Drama also features heavily in the summer programme. The Eastern Angles make a welcome return to the Little Theatre on May 21 with their presentation of Return to Akenfield, a fascinating play by Craig Taylor which has already been winning national acclaim (�11.50). On May 30 The Third Eye Theatre Company performing Mutiny!, based on the famous story of the Mutiny on the Bounty (�8.50).

One of the Little Theatre's Associated Amateur Companies appears next: the Sheringham Savoyards performing Gilbert & Sullivan's The Sorcerer from June 10-13 (�10, matinee �8). From June 24-27, it's the turn of another of the Associated Amateur Groups to take the spotlight: the Sheringham Players present 'Allo 'Allo! based on the hugely-popular television series (�8).

The Savoyards have also very kindly agreed to perform a concert version of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Sorcerer in the beautiful gardens at Mannington Hall on June 21 to raise funds for the theatre (�10).

Little Theatre favourites the Jehane Markham Trio, are back on June 14. If you're a fan of poetry and jazz you'd advised to book early for this one (�6.50).

Norfolk favourite Keith Loads also makes a welcome return with Loads More Old Squit!, on June 20. Following demands for a new DVD he'll be filming this performance, helped on the night by his MC, Keith Skipper (�11).

There's also a selection of entertainment for children and young people. Younger theatre fans (aged five years plus) will love E Nesbit's wonderful children's classic The Railway Children, presented by Image Musical Theatre on May 23. As well as singing along some children will have the chance to play small parts in the show too (�7, under-16s �6).

Young people will be pleased to see that the theatre's youth events team, Encore, are presenting another slam night on May 29 (�4). Paston College students are also taking to the stage in The Spaceman on July 1 (�7, students �4).

There will also be activities and workshops for youngsters of all ages at the theatre during the summer holidays - keep checking the theatre website for more information.

The 2009 Summer Rep season runs from July 7-September 12 and opens with Jim Cartwright's unique piece Little Voice. Other featured plays are the thriller Dead of Night, the farce Look, No Hans!, Alan Ayckbourn's Initimate Exchanges and N�el Coward's Private Lives (�13, matinees �10, under-18s �8, first-night discount of �1 off, Summer Rep season tickets available).

Regular film screenings also continue throughout the summer, including Young at Heart (May 5), Changeling (May 12), Australia (May 19), Slumdog Millionaire (June 2), The Reader (June 16) and A Bunch of Amateurs (June 30).

There is also a busy programme of art exhibitions including recent paintings by Derek Inwood (May 5-30), The Barrington Farm Artists (June 1-July 4), summer sketches by local artists (July 6-September 5) and an exhibition by Four Quarters (September 7-October 3).
