The legend of King Arthur will be brought to life on stage this Christmas in a magical family show.
An original production of King Arthur and the Holy Grail will be performed at the Atrium, on Spenser Avenue, North Walsham, from Thursday December 12 until Saturday December 21.
It will feature a fire-breathing dragon, pyrotechnics and water.
Television and radio presenter Helen McDermott will provide the voice of the Lady of the Lake character.
Writer, director and producer of the play, Joseph Ballard, said it was a good alternative to traditional pantomimes.
He said: 'I have always been fascinated by mythical creatures and magic and this new adaption, based loosely on the legends of King Arthur, will see our country's most famous hero win good over evil on the quest for the Holy Grail.
'Christmas is the best time of the year to experience live theatre as family and this year's offering will excite young audiences and enchant older ones with it's tales of heroism, magic, witchcraft and dragons. Our in-house shows are goring stronger and proving popular with audiences to come and support our local theatre here in North Walsham.
'Christmas the time to come and support your local venue and arts charity. We need all the help we can to spread the word about our show whether it's to a neighbour, at work or displaying a poster. We're here to profile the town and make everyone proud of it.'
All the main characters, played by trained actors, are from the North Walsham area.
Some 26 youngsters aged between eight and 17, who are members of the Atrium youth group, will play trolls and the children of Camelot.
The main role is played by Paston Sixth Form College student Aaron Curtis; Mitchel Bonsra will play Sir Gawain; Duncan Joseph will play Sir Percival; Krissi Jae Kitson will play Guinevere; and husband and wife Nicole Tremblay and Dominic James will play Morgana and Merlin.
Mr Ballard, artistic director and chief executive of the Atrium, will play the Fisher King.
He added: 'The play has got morals but also has lots of humour.'
An in-house professional production of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, written by Mr Ballard, was put on at the Atrium last year.
King Arthur and the Holy Grail will be performed on Thursday December 12 at 7pm; Saturday December 14 at 2.30pm and 7pm; Sunday December 15 at 2.30pm; Friday December 20 at 7.30pm; and Saturday December 21 at 2.30pm.
Tickets cost £6 for children, students and over 60s, £9 for adults and £27 for a family.
