The line up has been announced for this years Rock Bodham music festival.

The event, now in its third year has been, has been extended to a two day event, split between the village's playing field, on Cromer Road, and the Red Hart inn over the weekend of July 26-27.

On Saturday the playing field will play host to 12 local bands starting at 1.30pm and closing at 11.30pm.

Musical highlights include pop punk veterans Spot, local favourites The Yow Yows and headline act The Naked Lights.

The field will also host a beer tent, barbecue and a selection on stalls. Tickets, which are available on the gate, are £3 for adults and £1 for children under 12. Rock Bodham is free for children under three.

Compere for the day will be Spot drummer and professional wrestler Mike Waters.

On Sunday the pub hosts a free second full day of music, and a mini beer festival.

A more chilled out day is anticipated, with a selection of acoustic and folk acts as well as some rock bands in what is an eclectic and varied selection.

Highlights of the day include acoustic singer songwriter Jack Daniel, ceilidh band Compass Moon and folk rock headline act, Brother Pit.

In 2013, the event, which is organised to support local charities and causes, gave away nearly £5,000.

Among the charities to benefit this year, include the Norfolk and Waveney branch of the cystic fibrosis trust. The event organisers chose them as a beneficiary in memory to local actor, Gary Higgs who died earlier this year.

Gary's brother Jim, a local musician , will open the festival on the Saturday with an acoustic set before playing a full set with his band on the Sunday.

Among the other causes to benefit will be Holt first responders and Bodham Playing Field committee.

Committee chairman John-Paul Ringer said: 'We are really excited about this year's event. There are a few changes to previous years, particularly the addition of a second day, but we hope to maintain and build on our reputation as being family friendly, and affordable.'

The committee still need some more volunteers for the day, and has some remaining pitches for stalls. Interested persons can contact the committee at bodhambigweekend@gmail.com or on Twitter @RockBodham or Facebook www.facebook.com/rockbodham
