A new classical music piece by a Gresham's School teacher will be premiered by a community choir.
The Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society will be singing A Lenten Prayer written by the choir's musical director Nathan Waring, head of music at Gresham's Prep School, on Saturday March 28.
It comes just a few months after the society performed the world premiere of Eventide, written by Patrick Hawes in memory of Norfolk First World War heroine Edith Cavell.
The choir sang Eventide alongside the English Chamber Orchestra at Norwich Cathedral last year.
A Lenten Prayer will be sung at St Peter's Church in Sheringham with organist Lawrence Tao and two professional singers.
Society chairman Bob Cumber, 68, from St Nicholas Place in Sheringham, said: 'A Lenten Prayer is a very melodic and beautiful piece. Eventide had a tremendous impact on the choir. There was a huge amount of enthusiasm for it and we drew in new members.'
The Sheringham concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £12 in advance or £15 on the door. To book call 01263 822347 or visit www.sheringhamandcromerchoral.co.uk
