New Norwich exhibition of work by artist Susan Gunn

Called New Ground, the art show will run until November 30 at Fairhurst Gallery in the Norwich Lanes.

Mrs Gunn, who graduated from Norwich University of the Arts in 2004, said: 'Having studied at NUA over a decade ago with Tom and Dulcie Humphrey [from Fairhurst Gallery], I am thrilled to be collaborating with them on a solo exhibition.'

New Ground will include a collection of new abstract paintings made by Mrs Gunn during a residency at the Castlefield Gallery's New Art Spaces in Greater Manchester.

opportunity to re-visit and experiment with the scale and excitement that first drew me to the unique process that I

have developed over time,' said Mrs Gunn, who is married to former Norwich City goalkeeper Bryan Gunn.

Mr Humphrey, who runs the Fairhurst Gallery, said: 'We are hugely excited to be showcasing Susan Gunn's brand-new and unseen work New Ground. She is endlessly pushing the boundaries of her practice and her latest work is really powerful.'

Mrs Gunn was awarded the Arts Council 'Escalator' Award in 2005 and the inaugural Sovereign European Art Prize in 2006.

In 2014 she was commissioned to create a 20m painting, called Terra Memoria, for The Enterprise Centre at the UEA, and she was recently nominated for a Norfolk Arts Award.
