From theatre to music to a Christmas market and more, there is lots for people to enjoy in what is perhaps one of Norwich's newest and most unusual venues.
The Shoe Factory Social Club is based in St Mary's Works, which was once the shoe factory of Sexton, Son & Everard. It is being described as a 'meantime venue,' hosting an array of arts events ahead of plans for the area to be redeveloped next year.
Over the past few months The Shoe Factory Social Club has been establishing itself in the city's arts scene as a platform for the local creative community.
Venue manager Sam Coe said there had been a big response from artists and performers wanting to use the space, and said there was now a series of events planned at the site until June next year.
Miss Coe, who is also director of The Wharf Academy in Norwich, said: 'It's a chance for creative people in the community to put on interesting events in a really unusual venue.'
She encouraged lots of people to come and enjoy the events.
'Come and see the heritage of the space and experience a gig or a show in a really interesting venue before the development work begins next year. We have lots going on - theatre, music, drama and more.'
Tonight from 7.15pm there is a music night featuring Bryde and Stephanie O with Abigail Blake which is raising funds for the charity Musical Keys. This Saturday the band Wooden Arms will also be taking to the stage at 7.30pm.
Other events in the coming months include: theatre company Crude Apache presenting Richard III from November 23 until December 3; Shedload Theatre performing H.P Lovecraft's The Colour Out Of Space on December 8 and 9; a Feast on the Street on December 10; a Christmas Makers Market from December 16 to 18; and KlangHaus: Four Storeys at the nearby St George's Works from December 20 to 23. Among the events planned for next year is Sound Ideas Theatre Company's Sweeney Todd: The Warehouse Experience from March 23 until April 1.
