Oona is a life sized puppet of an Asian elephant from the play Running Wild that is now on show at Norwich Theatre Royal. Ten young carers, from Magdalen Gates Primary School, were invited along to meet Oona before they watch the play later in the week.

The children joined Oona as she stepped out onto the streets of Norwich before taking a trip down to Chapelfield Gardens to check out the vegetation for any suitable elephant-sized snacks.

They were able to get up close to the puppet who is controlled by four puppeteers.

Running Wild tells the story of a young girl who is swept into the Indonesian rainforest by a tsunami and is befriended by animals. The play is adapted from a children's book written by Michael Morpurgo. The show is on from April 25 to April 29.
