This performance is no stranger to Norwich and as a celebration of its 30th year on the stage it does not disappoint.
From the opening scene last night's (Tuesday) audience was enthralled by the comedic opening performance of Arthur Kipps (David Acton) and the Actor (Matthew Spencer) and then gripped as the play descended into darkness.
Any mere creak or echo was enough to have fingernails gripping into chair arms, so much so that when the really terrifying moments came many people tucked their heads into the shoulders of their nearest and dearest.
This is a compelling show which is a must-see whether it's your first or forth time it.
And it will give you chills for weeks.
- The Woman in Black runs at Norwich Theatre Royal but Saturday, April 22. For tickets ring the box office on 01603 63 00 00.
