I've often wondered what it might have been like to grow up in the 1960s.
Dreamboats and Petticoats, which has swung onto the Norwich Theatre Royal stage, gives me just that sort of opportunity.
Set in 1961 the Bob Tomson-directed production takes the audience on a Rock 'n' Roll-ercoaster of a ride back to the start of the swinging sixties.
Alistair Higgins (Bobby) and Elizabeth Carter (Laura) are the very likeable leads who play the parts of young musicians who compete to win a national song writing contest.
Running through the heart of this feel-good musical is a non-stop jukebox of timeless classics.
Let's Dance, Let's Twist Again, Dream Lover, Bobby's Girl, Only the Lonely, C'mon Everybody and Poetry in Motion are just some of the hits on parade.
It is a production which does not take itself too seriously and is enormous fun as a result.
Dreamboats and Petticoats is a fun-filled smash hit of a show which is pure poetry in motion.
• It runs at the Norwich Theatre Royal until Saturday, August 12.
