This is the third year the shantymen have performed this gig and spokesman Dick Grieve said: 'It started as a one-off as part of our 25th celebrations two years ago. It's a charity gig and the proceeds will be shared by the RNLI at Sheringham and Cromer and the Magdalene Group charity in Norwich, which raises awareness of sexual exploitation of women and young people.

'Ticket sales stand at about 340 and the theatre holds about 490.

'Keith will give us his renditions of Norfolk squit and other such stories whilst the shantymen will be singing their usual mix of maritime songs under the broad headings of water, normally the seas and the ocean, alcohol and the fairer sex.'

It's on Sunday, October 22 at 7.30pm. Pier box-office 01263 512495, www.cromerpier.co.uk
