Over the past 10 years great strides have made to regenerate the North Walsham and Dilham Canal.
And now a film screening at The Atrium in North Walsham is to shine a light on the work that has been done to the waterway, which was originally opened in 1826 to link up mills and provide a cheaper way to transport goods than by road.
The Wednesday, June 12 screening starts at 7.30pm, and there will also be information on local wildlife, access maps, memorabilia, homemade refreshments, and a raffle.
The trust behind the canal's conservation still needs to plug a £9,000 funding gap in the £35,000 cost of its latest project - restoring the top gates at Ebridge Mill Lock. One of three short films to be shown shows preparations for the restoration, which has now started thanks to a £26,000 grant from the EU Leader fund. Another film shows the arrival of the trust's trip boat, Ella II.
Entry to the film night is £4 and free for trust members.
