TONY COOPER
The highly-popular Wells Harbour Day will once again be held on the picturesque quay and near-by recreational ground on Sunday, August 29, with the programme kicking off with the famous boat jumble, where a myriad of boating paraphernalia will be on sale.
Other attractions start at 10.30am with wild-fowling displays, the Sea Scout's duck race, helicopter rides plus live music throughout the day.
The Sheringham Shantymen will help to bring the day's events to a grand finale at 7pm after the arrival of the Wells lifeboat and crew.
As in past years there will be many visiting vessels from around the coast, including the Dutch North Sea clipper Albatros, the ex-Humber pilot vessel TW Prickett, Trinity House lightship Vectis, local sailing barge Juno and the Wells lifeboats – Doris M Mann of Ampthill and Jane Anne (on the tide).
Refreshments on offer range from local seafood to a hog roast. Entry is free with ample parking.
