Motorhead celebrate their 30th anniversary this year, and they commemorated the occasion at the LCR last night the only way they know how - loudly.
Living legend Lemmy Kilmister and his band proved that some things only get better with age as they shook the venue to its foundations, despite their front man being even more unintelligible than usual thanks to a “shocking cold”.
From the off the songs came hard and fast, with new songs like Killers and In The Name Of The Tragedy fitting in seamlessly with old standards like Metropolis and storming versions of I Got Mine and Ramones tribute R.A.M.O.N.E.S.
Lemmy entertained the crowd throughout, saluting the band's veteran fans.
Motorhead are no one man band though - drummer Mikkey Dee's arm-destroying solo during Sacrifice, and guitarist Phil Campbell's equally impressive effort during crowd favourite Killed By Death, showed that you don't last this long without talented support.
The best was saved for the encore however, with a change of pace for the acoustic, harmonica driven, Whorehouse Blues, and the band's calling card Ace Of Spades, a song that comes to life in front of thousands of bellowing fans, a bit like Motorhead themselves.
