It's one of the UK's biggest celebrations of cinema, offering exclusive preview screenings and the chance to quiz film directors.

Now, for the first time, the Cambridge Film Festival is coming to Norwich.

In a real coup, Cinema City will be screening highlights of the internationally-renowned event every day from September 19 until October 2.

Must-sees include You Must Remember This, a new documentary which forms the centrepiece of Warner Bros Studios' 85th anniversary celebrations, narrated by Clint Eastwood.

It's directed by renowned American film critic Richard Schickel, who will be taking part in a Q&A session on September 25.

David Conolly and Hannah Davis will be attending the screening of their new film, the Understudy, on Monday, September 22; Tilda Swinton's latest film, Julia, which isn't released until December, is showing on September 26; and documentrist Werner Herzog's fascinating new feature, Encounters at the End of the World, about the search for cutting-edge science in Antarctica, shows on October 1.

Jack Thompson, manager of Cinema City said: “This is a great coup for Cinema City and Norwich.

“The Cambridge Film Festival is one of the most respected film festivals around and this is the first time it has entered into this kind of arrangement in the 28 years of its existence.

“It's not just about showing wonderful new and stunningly restored films in the city long before they get a national release - although that's obviously important, giving Norwich audiences the opportunity to see things before the rest of the country - but also the thrill of bringing such luminaries as Richard Schickel, one the most respected authorities on film in the world, to converse with our audiences.

“Thanks to the efforts of Tony Jones and his team in Cambridge we are effectively introducing a major new festival to the Norwich calendar and we hope this relationship will continue and grow in future years.”
