t Attleborough, November 30: Claire Weller, from Anglia News, will switch on the lights at 3.45pm. Santa and his sleigh will be in attendance.

t Aylsham, December 5: Processsion at 5.45pm from the Bure Valley Railway and lights on at 6pm in the Market Place. Shops will be open.

t Beccles, November 28: Live music, stalls, food and drink in Beccles Market Place. The lights will be switched on by Terry Molloy, star of The Archers and Doctor Who at 6pm, plus there will be a talk from historian Alison Weir. Terry will also be signing autographs. The Lowestoft Signing Choir and Loddon Brass Band will perform. Visitors can enjoy mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and late-night shopping.

t Bungay, November 20: The winner of a competition to design a Christmas card with a Bungay theme will be chosen to switch on the Christmas lights at 6.30pm. The winner will lead the procession through town in a vintage car. There will be late-night shopping, street entertainment and hot food, with traders dressed as stars from the silver screen.

t Burnham Market, November 29: The event runs 3pm-5.30pm, with stalls on the village green including mulled wine and food, arts and craft stalls, and fun for the children with a mini roundabout and face-painting. Father Christmas will be in his grotto with presents for the children and all funds raised will to go to The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House. Fakenham Brass Band will play carols. An all-star celebrity line up will turn on the lights, including Sarah Parish, Angela Griffin, Sian Reeves, Lucy-Jo Hudson, Nicola Stephenson and Amanda Holden.

t Cromer, December 5: Snow White panto star Caitlin Stasey will switch on the lights at 7pm. Caitlin, who grew up in Norfolk, plays Rachel Kinski in Neighbours and is taking the lead role in the panto at Norwich Theatre Royal.

t Diss, November 30: Entertainment starts from 5pm in the Market Place and around the town centre. There will be performances by Jack Frost, the juggling statue, as well as Bruce Airhead, the disappearing Santa, and favourite Christmas tunes will be played by the Red Hot Santas. A prize draw will be staged on the night with a first prize of a colour digital TV. Shops will be staying open. The celebrity switch-on will take place in the Market Place at 6.30pm.

t Dereham, November 30: The town has new Christmas lights this year after the town council donated £13,000. Events run from 3-8pm and will include bands, stalls, a fair and hot food.

t Downham Market, November 30: There will be a funfair, trade stalls, charity stalls and food stalls. Choirs from Clackclose and Hillcrest primary schools will be performing from 3pm. The switch-on will be at 4.15pm. There is also a craft fair plus Santa's grotto, which is open from 3pm.

t Fakenham, November 22: Lights will be switched on at 5pm, with amusements from 2.30pm, including fairground rides, north Norfolk DJs, craft stalls and a town band as well as carols.

t Great Yarmouth, November 26: The lights will be switched on in the Market Square and late-night shopping will feature the Radio Broadland roadshow, the Mayor of Yarmouth, Miss Great Yarmouth and special guests to switch on the Christmas lights at 6.30pm, followed by a fireworks display at 7.30pm. Most shops will stay open until 9pm.

t Harleston, December 5: Lights will be switched on by a celebrity at 6.30pm. The Fuzz band will be playing and there will be food and late-night shopping until 9pm. There will be a snow queen on stilts, larger-than-life snowmen and sprinkling snow in the streets, and appearances from the Britannia Hand Bell Ringers and the Harleston Primary School choir.

t Holt, November 26: Lights will be switched on at 6.30pm by pottery designer Emma Bridgewater. Streets are closed to traffic from 4.30pm for Santa's sleigh to arrive.

t Hunstanton, November 23: Lights will be switched on at 5.45pm by Basil Fawlty impersonator Ed Wells. Entertainment from 1-8pm. The High Street will host a selection of stalls including a continental market, food stalls, children's traditional rides and a DJ.

t King's Lynn, November 21: The switch-on event will take place in the Tuesday Market Place, starting at 5pm, with pop band The Brink live on stage and special guests, including Cyril from this year's ITV “X Factor”. Children's rides and a continental market will also feature. The annual Christmas procession starts at the Town Hall at 5.30pm and features the Mayor and Mayoress along with Santa with his sleigh and reindeers, elves, stilt walkers, Hunstanton's panto dame Widow Twankey and lots more. The King's Lynn Samba Band will lead the parade around the town before meeting up at the Tuesday Market Place. The eco-ice-skating rink, in the Vancouver Quarter, will be opened during the Christmas lights switch-on celebrations and will operate until Sunday January 4.

t Lowestoft, November 29: This year's theme is pirates and between 4-4.30pm the Christmas lights will be switched by stars of The Marina Theatre's panto Peter Pan - Ken Farrington (Tom King in Emerdale), Jamie Rickers (from CITV's Toonattik) and Sarah Jane Buckley (Cathy Barnes from Hollyoaks).

t Norwich, November 20: Father Christmas will be visiting from 5pm, with entertainment including Norwich Young People' Theatre Voices Choir and Radio Broadland's Chris Marston and Travel Ange, from 6.15pm, with the switch-on and fireworks from 7pm. Extended evening bus services will operate from the airport, Postwick and Thickthorn park-and-ride sites. Sprowston, Costessey and Harford sites will operate, with last buses leaving the city centre at 8.30pm.

t North Walsham, November 29: Christmas street fair and switch on, 2pm-6pm.

t Sheringham, November 29-30: Lights will be switched on at 4.30pm. A continental market will run on November

29-30.

t Thetford, December 5: Lights switched on at 6.15pm by Captain Mainwaring (Dad's Army) lookalike Mick Whitman in the Market Place. There will be carols, Santa on a float and an arts and crafts fair in the Guildhall, 10am-8pm.

t Watton, November 31: LED lights, which use less power, will be in operation. The main street will be closed for a Christmas market day from 10am. There will be a silver band, drink, hot food and stalls. The mayor will switch on the lights at 4pm.

t Wells, December 1: Late-night shopping, hog roast, mince pies and carols. Lights will be turned on at 4.45pm by David Whitely and Amelia Reynolds.

t Wymondham, December 6: The Market Place will host a Dickensian evening with late-night shopping, while the Market Cross will have trade and charity stalls and a visit from Father Christmas before the lights are switched on.
