Wroxham avoid banana skin

Wroxham 3, Felixstowe & Walton United 1

With Wroxham again playing a side at the lower end of the table, they have learnt that these teams struggling to survive, at this stage of the season, are hard to break down.

Paul Cook came in for the unwell Damian Hilton to partner Danny Bloomfield and Ben Thompson in attack.

The first move in the game involved Wroxham's Gary Gilmore whose powerful run from midfield was only halted when he was squeezed out and fouled on the edge of the area but from the free kick, Shaun Howes' left-foot shot was just wide.

Felixstowe then had a good 10-minute spell which they made full use of when on 18 minutes, they took the lead when a good ball in found Matt McKenzie unmarked at the far post for an easy header past Nathan Pauling.

Wroxham then had a free kick just outside the Felixstowe penalty area but Danny Self's ball in was hit just too far.

Another good move saw Jack Marsden out a good ball into Thompson's feet only for the striker to be fouled from behind. This time from just outside the area, Denny Self's sweet right-foot shot sailed into the top left-hand corner to level the scores up on 25 mins.
