Wroxham and King’s Lynn Town set to lock horns for a place in the Norfolk Senior Cup final

Ryman Division One North Wroxham host higher-level King's Lynn Town in the first of this season's senior county cup semi-finals. Both sides know a victory will book their place in the Carrow Road showcase on May 15 where they will meet either Gorleston or the Canaries' Under-21s, the holders, who meet tomorrow.

Gary Setchell's Evo-Stik Premier Division Linnets may go into this evening's tie as favourites. But the Yachtsmen proved they were good enough to reach the final last term and will believe they can cause an upset at Trafford Park.

Wroxham boss Pawel Guziejko said: 'We know them very well and have some detailed information on them.

'We have to be 100pc ready if we want to progress to the final and obviously we have to be technically ready, but most importantly we have to be ready mentally. That is key.

'It does not concern me that we haven't scored in the last two games as we have created some good chances. I would be more concerned if we weren't creating the chances in the first place. At the moment we are not panicking.'

Wroxham – who play at Step Four of the non-league ladder – are hopeful Ben Price will return from injury with Stephen Drake also back in contention after missing Saturday's 3-0 defeat to league leaders VCD Athletic.

The Yachtsmen have lost their last three matches and sit 19th in their 24-team table. Setchell's Step Three side were humbled 5-1 at Ashton United on Saturday but have fared far better this season following stunning back-to-back promotions. The defeat leaves Lynn eighth and facing an uphill battle to gatecrash the play-offs. And their manager admits that fact has probably changed the significance of tonight's Norfolk Senior Cup semi-final for Town.

Setchell said: 'Had we have beaten Trafford and won on Saturday at Ashton we'd have had an extra five points. If that had of happened this game would have taken on a totally different outlook. Going into Saturday we didn't really need the travelling for the game with some of the lads coming from Northampton. Probably some of them would have got the night off. But even those that won't be playing tonight will be there. I'll be picking a team to win the game.

'Some of our players need to put Saturday behind them and what better way of doing it than in a cup semi-final? There'll be a lot of local pride at stake, a chance to play at Carrow Road, so we'll be preparing properly and using it as preparation for a tough game against Blyth on Saturday.'

Goalkeeper Alex Street is eligible again after serving his two-game suspension for a Sunday League misconduct charge. Talented reserve-team youngster Shaun Stocker is likely to come into the squad after playing both of Lynn's county cup games so far. Striker Rob Duffy left The Walks yesterday.

Lynn lost the 2011 final to Dereham Town and, despite being 20-time winners, haven't lifted the county's top football prize since 1958. The club's reserves however did win the trophy in 2009. Wroxham were last champions in 2008.
