Peterborough United will be aiming to keep their Wembley dream alive tonight when Swindon Town arrive at London Road.

Posh host the Robins in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern Section Area Final first leg knowing a handsome victory would put them within touching distance of a trip to the home of English football.

Darren Ferguson's side are just two games away from the national JPT final – where they could face either Fleetwood or Chesterfield – and Peterborough's boss admits reaching the showcase fixture would please everybody connected with the Cambridgeshire outfit.

The Posh manager told his club's website: 'At the start of the season, we earmarked this competition as one that we wanted to be successful in and we are now two games away from Wembley Stadium. Swindon will be tough opposition, we know that having played them twice already, but we are all looking forward to the tie.

'After two postponements in a week, we are all pleased to be playing football again and we look to go into the second leg with an advantage.'

Peterborough won 1-0 against the Robins at London Road on the opening day of the League One term before losing the return 2-1 at the County Ground.

Ferguson will be without cup-tied trio Nicky Ajose, Conor Washington and Jack Baldwin for this evening's match – which kicks-off at the earlier than usual time of 7.15pm.
