Bawburgh Golf Club's Junior Open enjoyed a bumper entry and a high standard of play. Twenty six boys and seven girls from 15 different clubs took part in the 18-hole medal event.

The scratch event was won by Harry Weeds (h/c 9) of Bawburgh who shot 76, while in the nett event Jamie Harris (h/c 24) of Barnham Broom shot a remarkable 84 for a nett 60. Other prizes awarded included division winners Jamie Bool (h/c 15) of Caldecott Hall and Jamie Harris, and division runners-up Harry Weeds and Samantha Darling (h/c 19) of Costessey Park.

Bawburgh is hosting two more junior events on its 18-hole course over the next few months, details of which can be obtained from the club direct its website www.bawburgh.com. These are: Friday, April 27 (9-hole sprint Stableford, 6pm start), Friday, August 31 (Boys v girls challenge, 5pm start). On the bawburgh's 9-hole course at easton, the professionals at simplygolf are organising an order of merit competition to be played over three 9-hole rounds on the following dates: Saturday, July 28, Saturday, August 11, Saturday, August 25. More details of these events will be available from the club and on its website in the nearer the time.
