Emerald Park boss Richard Daniels believes his new look side will put the Gorleston back into Gorleston.

The former Diss manager admitted that despite it being a difficult pre-season, there were no hard feelings towards anyone who has left the club, and there are plenty of positives about what he is building.

Daniels said: 'It has been a difficult pre-season for us, but people need to realise that as a club we have to take the situation on the chin and I have no qualms with any player who has left the club.

'I have also got no qualms with Stewart Later, as far as I am concerned he has gone home to Wroxham but is still a good friend and I wish him all the best. The important thing for us now is to let all that go and focus on ourselves.'

Daniels is assisted by ex-Greens skipper Eddie Thompson and has added former Caister manager, Adam Mason, as well as Aaron Huggins-Bowers to his management team, which he feels is one of the best and hardest working around.

'I have got the best possible team by my side,' Daniels added. 'Eddie Thompson, Adam Mason and Aaron Huggins have all been vital to what I am trying to do and between us we are all very committed to putting the Gorleston back into Gorleston and bringing a local feel back to the club.

'As a club we will see good times again, but it will take work and no management team works harder than what we do, in order to bring success back to the club. We are all pulling in the same direction and have an excellent committee behind us and I couldn't ask for a better team.

'Personally, I am honoured to be back in charge, but I feel people need to realise that it is not easy to lose eight or nine good quality players and replace them straight away. However, we are happy with what we are putting together and as long as everyone gives their all every time that put that green shirt on we can't ask for more.

'The fixtures aren't out yet, but the start of our season will be key. If we can start well it will give everyone a confidence boost and put us a in a great position.

'However, people need to know that last year's team is gone and it will take time for everyone to settle.'

The Greens are currently in talks with a Ryman League defender, with an announcement expected in the coming days and Daniels expects a couple of more signings before the season starts on Saturday August 9.
