There were plenty of local winners at the mountain-bike enduro racing promoted by G8 Events in Thetford Forest just north of Brandon.
In muddy, slippery conditions Josh Murad from the Swaffham-based EHF team, took the Youth race. Dave Penny of King's Lynn MTB won the two-hour Sport, Phil Hargreaves the two-hour Grand Vets and Lee Woodcock (EHF) the Experts.
In the four-hours, Jason Nunn (EHF) took the Vets, and Adam Cross the Open race.
As the day went on no single racing line developed as competitors constantly searched for a fresh bit of grass to get a grip on.

Having finished 41st in the Vets race in Thetford Forest Jules Allen hotfooted it to Norwich to team up with Miles Kirby to perform a remarkable commentary double act at the Norwich Flyers BMX races.
Norwich Flyers had winners in the Female Youth class where Morgan Dorrell won the final from clubmate Kitty Bishop and Jared Hill who took the 8-9 years.
Not all the riders were young – Norwich Flyer Martin Cracknell was returning to racing at the age of 46 after a 21-year lay-off.
Once a keen young rider Cracknell later became interested in vintage BMX bikes. In his competitive return at Sloughbottom he took fifth place among 17 starters in the 17+ Cruiser (big wheel) class.
In the 17+ standard BMXers Ipswich rider John Lillingstone looked hot favourite after the opening motos but in the final he just touched the starting gate as it went down and Oliver Cutmore (Braintree) got a good lead with Alan Hill (Norwich Flyers) coming through to take second just ahead of Lillingstone.
Learning quickly from experience Sophie Wright (Renvale RT) made a good start in the National Trophy cyclo-cross at Peel Park, Bradford, on a course which introduced Wright to a more serious cyclo-cross course on which riders constantly had to dismount and re-mount. Riding among the Elite Women, Wright finished sixth and first Junior.
Mud was the story at the Stowmarket & District CC's cyclo-cross at Trinity Park, Ipswich, where Shaun Aldous (Renvale) took the Vets 40-49 race, though John Swindells (Iceni Velo) got his best result of the season – taking second, just 45 seconds down.
Grant Martin (XRT) managed to get his abundant power down on long climbs and took the Senior Men's race with Junior winner Dougal Toms (Iceni) in second place.
