Norfolk's top boxers are back in business next month – at a new venue.

Promoters of the Homecoming fight nights have switched from the Norfolk Showground to the Epic studios in Magdalen Street, which will play hosts to part three of the series on Friday, March 22.

Promoter Mervyn Turner, of Bedforshire-based Shamrock Promotions, said the switch was purely down to a date clash.

'Unfortunately we could not find a date that suited at the Showground this time around as there is a lot going on in March and it was important we didn't clash,' he said.

'Epic is a great venue and I am sure the atmosphere will be electric for the fans in what once again promises to be a very special night of boxing in Norwich.'

The headline bout will be Michael Walsh's first International Masters super-bantamweight title defence against Kenyan John Gicharu.

'I will beat anyone my promoter puts in front of me and Gicharu will go the same way as the rest of them,' said the Cromer fighter, who won the title after an explosive one-round win over George Gachechiladze in November.

'He will definitely not see me in the 10th round, except in his dreams.'

Brother Ryan is back in action after his controversial draw against Scotland's Ronnie Clark in November, while former Commonwealth heavyweight champion Sam Sexton continues his 'comeback' on the national scene when he faces Hungarian Attila Palko, who has an impressive record of 16 wins and just four defeats.

The undercard sees welterweight prospect Nathan Dale looking to maintain his unbeaten run – his record currently stands at eight straight wins as a professional – with the ever-improving Scott 'Iron Duck' Moises looking for another home win after his comprehensive defeat of Ibrar Riyza back in November.

'Nathan is one of the best prospects around and whilst we don't want to get carried away and move on too quickly he will certainly be climbing up the ratings this year,' said Turner.

There is also a debut for another local fighter in light middleweight Duane Green.

'We are all about progressing the careers of outstanding local talent as well as making sure we provide a platform for new professionals such as Duane,' added Turner.
