Record-breaking Gorleston leapfrogged Thetford Town to move into third place in the Thurlow Nunn Premier table.

The Greens were 3-1 winners at Brantham Athletic to preserve their superb unbeaten start to the campaign.

It takes their record to seven wins and three draws from their opening 10 games of the season – the best start they have made since the early 80s.

Connor Ingram, who is heading for a trial at Ipswich Town this week, signed off with a brace of goals, with the visitors helping out with the third.

Gorleston came from behind, having conceded from a controversial penalty, awarded for handball, in the 22nd minute, but they were level two minutes later when Ashley King was nudged in the back and the referee again pointed to the spot, with Ingram converting.

Ingram added a second before the interval, with a defender then getting a touch to Jack Garrod's drilled cross on 52 minutes to ensure the points were Gorleston's.

Thetford went down 1-0 at Stanway Rovers to slip to fourth after just one point in their last three games.

Great Yarmouth Town picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at sixth-placed Felixstowe & Walton United, while Fakenham Town are 10th after a 2-1 home win over Wivenhoe Town. The Bloaters went behind just after half-time, but rescued a point when Jamie George was fouled on 70 minutes and got up to convert the penalty.

Kirkley & Pakefield were 4-1 home winners over Walsham le Willows thanks to goals from Jack Smith, Lewis Flower, Nathan Stone and a Richard Woodrow penalty.

In the First Division, March Town United were thumped 5-0 at Braintree Town, while Dereham Town reserves went down by the same score at home to Coggeshall Town. Wisbech St Mary were 3-0 winners at Leiston Reserves while Diss Town came away from Team Bury with the points after a 4-2 win, their goals coming from Adam Burroughs (2), Jason Armes and Shaun Hunsdon.

Two goals from Michael Frew were enough for Wisbech Town to seal a comfortable 2-0 victory over visiting Harrowby United.

Having lost narrowly at leaders Peterborough Sports in midweek, the Fenmen were coming up against a side still smarting from an 8-0 home demolition the previous weekend – but buoyed by newly-appointed management.

Wisbech dominated and in the 12th minute, an attempt by a Harrowby defender to clear his lines resulted in the ball going straight up and Frew connected perfectly with the dropping ball to volley home the opening goal from 25 yards.

On 25 minutes Wisbech lost Sam Murphy to a broken nose, Edgaras Buzas coming on for the stricken midfielder. This didn't appear to hamper the home side and the lead was doubled three minutes later. Curtis Knight played in Adam Millson down the left wing, but his low cross only found a defender. However, the attempted clearance found Frew just inside the penalty area and the experienced striker took a touch before placing a low shot beyond the visitors' keeper.
