The feature went to 2/1 chance Ziggy's Secret, given a great ride by seven-pound claimer Mikey Ennis, more usually seen riding chasers at Fakenham.

Lucy Wadham's four-year-old was given a great lead in the race by Jungle Bay and a furlong out surged through to win in style with fast-finishing Almanack second.

Back in June, Vodka Chaser won at the course and she repeated that feat in the five-furlong handicap.

Claimer Philip Prince got the Alison Hutchinson trained filly away smartly and although Alpha Delta Whisky led for a few yards, the eventual winner, returned at 8/1, quickly re-asserted her position.

'She likes it good to firm or firm,' said the winning trainer, who hinted the filly might be back at the course for the September festival.

Apprentice jockey Peter Sword produced an excellent ride to win the nine-furlong handicap on odds-on Frontline Phantom for trainer Karl Burke.

Sword won on the gelding in an apprentice handicap at Doncaster on Saturday and turned out quickly, he landed the spoils again.

At one point Sword looked trapped on the rails but he remained patient and got the break to hit the front. Ela Goog La Mou rallied but never looked like beating the 4/5 favourite.

Three-year-old filly Mimi Luke has been consistent recently and trainer Alan Bailey was rewarded when she got her nose in front to win for the first time in 16 contests.

Ridden by Martin Harley, the filly was produced late to beat Great Wave and reward 11/4 favourite backers after a photo-finish.

Newmarket trainer Chris Wall notched his sixth course success of the season when taking the opener with Eleusis at 4/1.

Whaleweigh Station, under Freddie Tylicki was sent off 8/11 favourite but Eleusis not only looked the best horse in the parade ring but won comfortably by six lengths.

Ted Durcan had the filly in front early and was never threatened in cruising home over the six-furlongs.

Another filly in the winner's enclosure was the Rae Guest trained Rawoof. Having changed hands for £90,000, the filly was having her first run for Guest and under Chris Catlin didn't put a foot wrong.

Catlin had the 4/1 chance in front early and never looked in danger.

In the finale, the apprentice handicap, Rouge Nuage took the spoils over the straight mile under youngster Jordan Nason who won cosily on the Conrad Allen trained gelding fourth at Newmarket on Friday.
