The best Superkart racers from all over the continent descend on Snetterton this weekend to contest rounds three and four of the European Championship with Marcell Maasmann out to defend his lead.

In the previous races in Germany, Maasmann finished second to Lee Harpham in the opening event but the Briton failed to score in round two and with the Dutch racer winning he has a 12-point advantage over Danish racer Henrik Lilja.

With Harphan determined to get back in the title hunt and Lilja keen to reduce his deficit, their battle with Maasmann around the 300 layout will be exciting to watch.

The British Kart Grand Prix events are held on the Sunday with Gavin Bennett, Paul Platt and Ben Wilshire keen to maintain their respective category advantage.

Supporting the Superkarts are ten saloon and single seater races with the Mini Miglia events providing a great deal of local excitement.

Norwich's Tony LeMay has won at his local circuit before but the returning Peter Baldwin, from Cambridge, was a recent winner and will take some defeating, although Paul Thompson currently holds the points advantage.

In the Mini Seven section just a single point separates Andrew Diviny and Gareth Hunt but neither can slip up as Paul Sparks is ready to pounce.

Production Touring Car Champion Adrian Churchill has swapped his Astra for a Ford Focus but Gary Duckman comes to Snetterton in the lead for Excelr8 Motorsport, based at Long Stratton.

Wisbech's Maurice Hayden's local knowledge of his home circuit could see him stand on the podium

In the Intersteps series Matt Parry hopes to leave Norfolk with his lead intact but Matt Mason has other ideas. Racing starts at 2.55pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday.
