Having played five events over the winter in a pairs fourball betterball format, the members of the Thetford Golf Club Pro-Am were sent out on their own in the Championship event that concluded the winter season.

In the final event, it was home player and new professional's assistant Ed Garrard who stole the show. He posted a personal best score of 70 from his four handicap for a winning score of 66. His round proved why he is known by many as 'Steady Eddie'. Starting on the 14th he holed two birdie two's on the 16th and 3rd. Bogies on the 5th and 9th pulled him back to level par gross on the day before he used every ounce of his power to launch two magnificent shots on to the green at the par 5 13th and holed the putt for a closing eagle three.

Chris Page from Cambridgeshire was in second place with a nett score of 70 and another home player, Bob Setchell, shot a nett 72 in third. Having finished second last year having won in 2010, Gog Magog member Steve Jarvis took top honours in the scratch event. The plus 2 handicapper shot a 74.

In the Professional Medal, Jamie Abbott produced his normal quality golf to shoot a two under par 70. Four birdies were mixed with 2 bogies to win by 2 shots from Paul Maddy. Paul finished runner up for the second year in a row, even with a miserable eight on his starting hole.

Maddy started on the relatively easy par 5 6th hole but somehow managed to take an eight. And so began the recovery. Birdies on 10, 12 and 17 got him back to level par but another disappointing bogey on the 3rd put him over par again. Paul's determination not to finish over par saw him birdie the 4th hole. Caroline Grady came home 3rd with an excellent 73.
