Speculation continues to grow that Major Soccer League (MLS) star Dom Dwyer will be loaned to a Championship club in January.

The English striker capped a memorable season by lifting the MLS Cup – a competition won by superstar David Beckham – with Sporting Kansas City at the weekend. That success came off the back of Dwyer's excellent loan spell at third tier Orlando City where the King's Lynn-raised ace bagged 15 goals in 13 games to help his temporary club win the USL Pro championship.

And it appears his form hasn't gone unnoticed across the Atlantic because the former Norwich City teenager has been linked with a move to an unnamed team in the Football League, according to the Telegraph.

Sporting KC refused to comment on the rumours but it's not unusual for players to spend time in England during the American close-season. Dwyer's ex-team-mate Kei Kamara, now at Middlesborough, started a three-month spell at Norwich in January.
