Glorious sunshine greeted 32 pairs of ladies for the annual Vanilla Ladies Doubles Charity tournament - this year in aid of the East Anglia Children's Hospice - at East Anglia Tennis & Squash Club.
The morning sessions saw four pairs in eight groups vie for the first and second place as they played seven games with a sudden-death deuce rule to go through to the afternoon knock-out session.
After two rounds, Annie Cowper-Johnson and Diana Hale from Cromer, Val Woodhouse and Belinda Cammell from Holt, Dawn Thompson and Diane Bush from Norwich and Donna Andrews and Bronya Cluer from Norwich went through to the semi-finals - from which Annie and Diana and Donna and sister Bronya emerged the victors.
The final was played in front of a large crowd of ladies enjoying the weather, with Donna and Bronya repeating their 2005 performance to capture the trophy.
Vanilla proprietor, Anita Vadhir, presented the winners with bouquets and the perpetual cup and the runners-up received bouquets donated by Hadley Taylor Estate Agents.
Anita thanked everyone for coming, for EAT&SC the use of their courts, manager Keel Broom for looking after the bar, Derek Perry for refereeing and the helpers in the kitchen.
