Wymondham retained the Summer Cup after beating Bob Carter 6-2, their fourth Summer Cup triumph in five years.

Honours were shared in an entertaining first half as Wymondham's Jon Sparham, John Jeffery and Chris Mann beat Carter's John Turner, Simon Willies and David Lamb 19-14 with both skips in excellent form.

Carter's Nigel Willard, Melvin Woods and Jason Woods were involved in another fascinating game against Mark Linsdell, Debbie Sparham and Jack Pye and with one end left to play Pye's triple led by 10-9. On a replayed last end Jason Woods took his chance to ditch the jack and score three shots for a 12-10 win.

As the second half progressed Carter looked the favourites with John Turner, Simon Willies and David Lamb leading Mark Linsdell, Debbie Sparham and Jack Pye 10-3 after eight ends while the game between Mann's triple and Woods' triple was finely balanced. Chris Mann's triple then grabbed the game by the scruff of its neck to move 13-5 up while a tactical change in the other game saw Mark Linsdell's switch from lead to skip pay off big time. With Linsdell displaying the form of his life his Wymondham triple stormed to a 15-11 win in a remarkable turn-around while Chris Mann's triple completed an impressive 13-7 win on the other mat to leave Wymondham celebrating victory after a superb cup final.
