Tom Scudamore, stable jockey to top trainer David Pipe, has a real chance of landing three winners from three rides at this afternoon's seven-race card at Fakenham.

The forecast going is good to soft at the North Norfolk course, where the last two meetings have been abandoned due to snow and frost.

Scudamore teams up for Market Rasen-based trainer Steve Gollings in the day's feature, The Tim Barclay Memorial Handicap Chase (2.45pm) worth almost £6,500.

He rides Honest John, who before finishing fourth of eight at Taunton at the end of 2012 had won in November at both Huntingdon and Doncaster.

Bottom weight Special Robon, with five-pound claimer Harry Challoner up for Venetia Williams and the Nick Gifford-trained Fairy Rath rate the biggest threats, the Denis O'Regan ridden Fairy Rath looking to capture the form of his Wincanton success in November.

Scudamore teams up with his boss in the most competitive race of the day, the EBF novice hurdle qualifier (3.20pm). He rides Barney Cool, fourth at Ascot in November.

Pipe also sends out Edmund Kean, fourth on hurdles debut at Ffos Las two weeks ago.

Sound Investment under Daryl Jacob for champion trainer Paul Nichols and Viva Steve, Dominic Elsworth riding for Mick Channon, are strong challengers to the Pipe duo.

Sound Investment lived up to his name when winning at Taunton in January while Viva Steve has been second in both starts, including on hurdles debut at Towcester.

Scudamore is back in the saddle for Gollings in the finale (4.30pm), the National Hunt flat race, riding newcomer Fancy Act.

But odds-on favourite will be Nicky Henderson's Free Thinking, under Sam Waley-Cohen. Free Thinking won at Kempton on debut in December while another challenger will be Kim Bailey's Supreme Present under Nick Schofield, a winner at Uttoxeter last season and fifth of 11 on seasonal return in November at Warwick.

The amateurs have their big moment for the Walter Wales Cup (3.55pm). Five take their chance, with Bressingham-based Fleur Hawes looking for local joy with Flaming Gorge under Micky Ennis.

Joe Hill, riding for owner-trainer father Alan, on Rave The Brave looks a danger as does recent Ludlow winner Bob N You.

The Countryside Day opener (1.10pm) sees nine contest the selling hurdle with Dalrymple, fifth on Saturday at Uttoxeter hoping to do better under Tom O'Brien for Polly Gundry while King's Road, Tom Messenger for Anabel Murphy, and Hopeand, Adam Pogson for his father Charlie, have high hopes.

Only six go in the Andy Don Memorial Chase (1.40) with Ballypatrick, Conor O'Farrell riding for Channon ,the likely favourite after finishing runner-up at Huntingdon a few days ago. Nicholls' Buck's Bond, a Taunton winner, and Williams' Baileys Concerto, under Sam Thomas, also have strong claims.

The handicap hurdle (2.15) sees Everdon Brook go for a fourth win this term.

The David Thompson-trained Tony Kelly mount last won at Catterick two weeks ago and may still have enough to beat Paul Henderson's Minella Special, a Fakenham winner on New Year's Day, and Tick Tocker, making the trip from Donald McCain's northern yard.
