Ashmanhaugh and Barton Wanderers have pulled off something of a coup by clinching the services of former county cricketer Robbie Joseph.

The 36-year-old Antiguan has agreed a deal to become new player/coach at the village club, who play their cricket in Division Two of the Norfolk Alliance.

A right-arm fast bowler, who can also score useful runs down the order, Joseph played for Kent between 2005 and 2011 and then signed a short-term deal with Leicestershire before returning to Canterbury in 2014.

In 2008 he went on tour to India with the England Performance Squad after taking 55 Championship wickets over the course of the campaign. Joseph played 69 first class matches in total, taking 188 wickets.

Since retiring from the professional game he has played for Hertford CC, while also having two stints as performance coach with Cricket Namibia.
