The British Superbike Championship makes its annual trip to the Circuit van Drenthe at Assen in Holland for the penultimate round of the 2017 season – and the RAF Marham-based RAF Regular and Reserves team will be hoping to get one hand on the trophy as Jake Dixon aims to get his 1000cc Kawasaki ZX10RR up on the podium again.

Two good results this weekend could see him in with a serious chance of lifting the title a fortnight later at the final triple header round at Brands Hatch.

Dixon is fourth in the championship and 30 points behind series leader Leon Haslam with 125 points up for grabs. However, he still has former champion Josh Brookes and reigning champion Shane Byrne between him and Haslam so it is not going to be a walk in the park. Only podiums will do this weekend, preferably the top step, but Dixon, who has signed up to the team for 2018, has proven he is more than equal to the old guard.
