Norfolk's only National League basketball team are hoping to make their supporters feel quids in tomorrow when they bid for a place in the third round of the National Shield.

CWA Fury, based in King's Lynn, take on Canary Wharf London Lituanica at Lynnsport (3pm) and are hoping for another bumper crowd. But with their usual Saturday evening fixture not taking place this week, the hoopsters have come up with a great promotional offer.

If the Fury get 100 or more paying customers through the door, each and every one will get £1 back as they leave.

Club promoter Kevin Holland said: 'We appreciate our fans. They mean so much to the team who are unbeaten in three games now.

'We're riding high in the league and we know that Sunday is not the most attractive of days to watch basketball. To show the supporters how much they mean to us, we are willing to off set the costs of admission providing we can make the numbers work.

'If we get 100 or more paying supporters, everyone will get a £1 refund as they leave. The crowds have been a great help to the team this year and we are creating a real buzz.

'It's exciting and the fans are seeing the best Fury team in years down at Lynnsport. We hope to reward them throughout the season with offers like this and more.'

Ninety supporters watched at the weekend when CWA moved joint top of Division Four (South East) by beating London United 88-75 on their own court.

The victory was all the more impressive considering that Eivydas 'Kobe' Aleksa was unavailable due to a bad ankle injury. But Deividas Butkevicius really took advantage as he scored 26 of his team's point during their last victory.

Coach James Bamfield said: 'It's great to have another win on the board and we're starting to gel as a team and figure out what strengths each of us can bring.

'We put together around 15 minutes of basketball that was outstanding and we just need to continue to work to get that professionalism and consistency so that we can do that all game long. It was good to be able to get some more experience for some of our talented younger players and we may see a real benefit for that later in the year.'

Admission prices for tomorrow's cup game are £5 for adults and £3 for under-16s.
