The FA have confirmed this morning that King's Lynn Town have been granted promotion to play at Step Four of the non-league ladder next season.

The Linnets have been allowed to go up from the United Counties League, despite finishing runners-up to Long Buckby, after not all of the 12 possible promotion slots were filled across Step Five of the pyramid by league champions.

Lynn boss Gary Setchell said he was 'absolutely ecstatic' and 'relieved' at the news which means the Linnets are likely to play in the Ryman Division One North league next season. This decision, however, is yet to be officially confirmed by the FA.

Setchell's side, whose Walks stadium passed its ground grading test, were comfortably the best second-placed side at that level - with an outstanding points per game average of 2.650.
