Lowestoft Town look destined to play in the Blue Square (Conference) South next season as a result of their thrilling play-off success.

The Trawlerboys, subject to appeal, have avoided the dreaded northern section of the Step Two tier's set-up, which will delight all connected with the Crown Meadow outfit. The information was released by the Conference's official Twitter feed during a day of confusion which left non-league fans across the country anxiously waiting to learn what divisions their teams will be playing in next season.

The make-up of the semi-professional pyramid was due to be released at about 5pm but the FA said it had been delayed due to 'technical issues'. Postings on Twitter and Facebook suggested that the announcement had been delayed for a 'couple of days' because a team had appealed somewhere in the part-time game's hierarchy. But while Lowestoft learned their fate at about 6.30pm a string of other clubs had to wait even longer to find out where they would be plying their trade come 2014/15.

King's Lynn Town will remain in the Evo-Stik (Northern) Premier Division, quashing rumours they were set for a switch to the same-level Ryman Premier – a move which would have left boss Gary Setchell with a geographical headache due to a lot of his players being based up north.

The happiest club of all was perhaps Wroxham who are set for another campaign in Ryman Division One North, alongside Dereham, after being given a relegation reprieve.

It appears that the Yachtsmen – who finished third from bottom and should have dropped down into the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division – were allowed to keep their Ryman status due to Ware switching to the Southern set-up.
