Top Norfolk pike anglers have been raising cash for charity.
John Goble of Caister on sea, and another well-known rod Tony Myhill of Wymondham helped raise the sum of 3,500 for Cancer Research at a special Charlie Bettell memorial evening with the help of their hosts in the newly -ormed Essex Pike Angling Club.
'Charlie Bettell was the Broads most experienced angling guide who sadly passed away earlier this year and both Tony and I were delighted to be invited by the Essex PAC to talk and answer questions about our successful fishing in the Broads,' explained Goble, who stunned the pike fishing world by catching a Broads 45lb 8oz record breaker from the River Thurne in March 2009.
