Lynn came from behind for the second time in as many matches to double their early-season points haul this evening.

After going 2-0 down in their Evo-Stik Premier Division opener on Saturday it was more of the same as Gary Setchell's men were back in arrears in their first home game of the campaign.

But as they did at the weekend, the Linnets showed plenty of resilience to ensure they didn't leave the field empty handed with George Thomson being the match-winner again. After picking up three points from their first two fixtures last term, Lynn have six this campaign and have already shown they have learned from their maiden Step Three campaign.

The hosts were marginally the better side for much of the opening 45 minutes – even though Jameel Ible had poked home from close range in the 18th minute. Yet The Walks faithful were cheering just 60 seconds later as Jackson Ramm followed up Michael Frew's parried blockbuster to bring the two sides level.

Kepper Ben Simpson had earlier, somehow, denied Frew from point-blank range and was tested by David Bell. But he, and Alex Street at the other end, weren't really tested again as the chances dried up.

Thomson went close following good play down the right flank from speed demon Ramm. However, he didn't miss his next effort as he half-volleyed home from 18 yards to keep up his side's 100pc start – which was preserved when Ramm hooked a Jack Wakefield header off his own line in the closing stages. Frontman Michael Frew spurned a late chance to put the icing on the cake but it didn't matter.
