It was second against third as Wensum D played Dynamic Rams A in Premier B of the Norwich and District League.

The match finished 5-5, with Peter Hopking of third-placed Rams putting in a star performance with three singles wins.

Steve Gurton and David Charles also picked up a game each, with Wensum needing to take the doubles to take a share of the spoils. It was an unusual off night for Wensum's Ian Brown, who was winless.

Gothic B's promotion push was halted after a 5-5 draw with UEA B. Tom Lo continued his impressive season and was unbeaten in his singles. Yinka Falana also picked up a brace. Gothic's Paul Durrant and Paul Baudinet picked up a brace of wins each.

In Division One, Wensum F were pegged back by Taverham B in a 5-5 draw. This was despite Taverham racing to a 3-0 lead thanks to singles maximums from veterans Jack Harrowing and John Vaughan. A tight five-leg doubles was won by John and Jamie Leeder over Ross Gray and Ben Richmond of Wensum. Ross and Ben also secured two single wins apiece for Wensum, with Nigel Metcalf picking up the remaining singles for the hosts.

There was a fiercely-contested match at Norfolk County Council Sports and Social Club, as NCC drew with Foxwood F. Foxwood, led by Don Dixon, supported by Lindsay Horstead, just edged NCC's Peter Betts and Paul Price to take the doubles 3-2 and secure the draw and share the points.

SFC B and Harriers D drew 5-5 in a hard-fought match with plenty of friendly banter. SFC B started well, with Richard Westgate's surprise win over Dom Clark and they went on to a 4-2 lead. Harriers fought back with three skilful wins, Dom beat Andy Beane, Phil Hill beat Richard, and Dave Allwood beat Andy Watson, which meant Harriers led 5-4.

Andy Watson and Richard teamed up determined to secure an equal share of the points, and managed to just sneak a tight doubles against Dom and Phil.

Time will tell, but two points each may well prove a good result for both teams, near to the bottom of the table.

Foxwood G had a good home win, 7-3, against Wensum E. It was secured by the powerful showing of Mark Trett who took three singles wins in straight sets.
