Recent rain has created ideal conditions for the 10th Stratford Hills Horse Trials to be staged this weekend.

Last year's drought led to the cancellation of the event.

There are no such concerns this year which will mark the retirement as organiser of Lady Gill Aldous.

Dressage starts at 8.30am on both days, show jumping at 9.10 and the cross-country, perhaps the biggest attraction for spectators, at 10.10.

The cross country course runs through woodland and undulating mature pasture land. A new fence called the Monkey Puzzle, offers options for all classes.

Riders will find many of the same fences as in the past, including water hazards, but some will be in different positions on the course.

Car parking, to include one programme, will cost 10 to include all occupants. Each car displaying current British Eventing membership will be admitted free. There will be numerous trade stands, food outlets and a bar.
