Paul Wiseman will take over as first-team captain of Norwich for the 2011 season.

The opening bowler replaces Chris Borrett, who has been appointed club chairman of cricket. Borrett has vacated the captaincy role after six years because of family and work commitments, but will still play.

Norwich have secured the services of Australian leg spinner and left-handed batsman Erik Laubscher for their East Anglian Premier League campaign. The 21-year-old all-rounder plays A grade cricket in his home country for West Torrens District and has featured for Australia at Under-16 level, while he was also in the preliminary squad for the Under-19 World Cup in 2009/10. He is a qualified Level Two coach and also holds a British passport.

Other changes decided at the club's AGM last week included David Higenbottam taking over as chairman from Paul Borrett, who reverts to vice-chairman, in his 50th serving year on the committee at Ingham and now Norwich.

Martin Greiller will captain the second XI in Norfolk Alliance Division One, while Jamie Bradford will lead the third team in Alliance Division Four. Jon Burton captains the Sunday XI and Diane Bush is commercial chairman.

Winter nets start at the Open Academy in Norwich on January 27 and will continue fortnightly from 8pm to 10pm.
