The parkrun scene recovered in style from the Beast from the East as Mark Armstrong takes a look at the events at Catton, Lowestoft, King's Lynn and Thetford
Catton
Norwich Road Runners' Matt Howard led the 274 finishers home at a muddy parkrun on Saturday.
Howard was in a class of his own, taking first place in 18:36, with Anthony Alborough (Coltishall Jaguars) second in 19:15. Jonathan Cordle (Tri Anglia) was third in 19:51.
Joanne Watkins (Norfolk Gazelles AC) was first female in 21:34 with Maria Kirwin second in 22:55. Jo Walmsley (Wymondham AC) was third in 23:09 in her first ever parkrun at Catton.
Junior runners Zachary Dunne and Ruby Decooper Wride celebrated their 10th parkruns whilst Kevin Ames notched up his 50th event.

Twenty-eight first timers took part at Lowestoft this week among the 234 runners that ran the event.
First home was Robert Chenery (Ipswich JAFFA) in 17:04, nearly two minutes ahead of the rest of the field. Tom Galley (Lowestoft Road Runners) took second place in 18:57 with junior runner Josh Barnard third in 19:04.
Polly Davies was first female in 21:20 - her first time at Lowestoft – with Sophie Bell (Bungay Black Dog RC) second in 22:19. Jenny Sheahan was third in 22:30.
Steve Wright and Teresa Plant celebrated their 125th events whilst Nick Saunders and Emily Coles clocked up their 75th appearances. Oliver Owen notched up his 50th parkrun.

King's Lynn
A bumper turnout of 355 runners took part at King's Lynn.
Matt Pyatt (Renegade Runners) took first place in 16:58 with Adam Matthews (Ryston Runners) just behind in 17:29. Peter Holmes (Ely Runners) was third in 17:43.
Sally Lynn Hurst (Renegade Runners) was first female in 20:46 with Debbie Schwarz (West Norfolk AC) second in 21:36. Rebecca Judge (RunDMC) was third in 22:52.
Congratulations were in order to Robert Bartholomew, who celebrated his 50th parkrun.

Martin Gooderham (Harling AC) led the 168 parkrunners home at Thetford in a time of 20:15.
Karl Wright (Thetford AC) was the runner-up in 20:51 with Anthony Gammell third in 21:12 - his first ever parkrun.
Donna Finney was first female in 22:39 with Heidi Teixera just a second behind in 22:40. Eike Hausler (Eastern Veterans AC) was third in 22:53.
Richard Cator notched up his 200th parkrun as Jennie Chamberlain celebrated her 150th. Philip Gordon ran his 100th parkrun event.
