parkrun focus: Excellent turnout at Thetford, 35 PBs at Blickling and Linda Marshall celebrates her 50th event at King’s Lynn

Thetford parkrun enjoyed an impressive turnout of 238 runners on Saturday.
They were led home by Simon Smith (British Army) in 19:27, just two seconds ahead of Thetford Athletic Club's David Loomes. Neil Barton enjoyed his first experience of the Thetford event, coming home third in 20:18.
Issabel Hessey was first female, another first timer at Thetford, with a very impressive time of 20:42. Natalie King set a new personal best of 22:35 to take second with Eike Hausler (Eastern Veterans AC) third in 22:48.

Albert Hicks set a new personal best in his 10th parkrun with a time of 20:39 whilst Thomas Parkington followed suit in 21:08. Stuart Baker (Wayland Hares Running Club) set a new individual best of 21:56 as did Anita Byrne in her second ever parkrun (28:40).

Thirty-five new personal bests were set at Blickling parkrun out of the 271 parkrunners that took part.
Chris Parker (North Norfolk Beach Runners) was first home in 18:48 with Norwich Road Runners' Trevor Gannon next to finish in 19:22. Tony McCallum was third in 19:34 whlst junior Jedd Atkinson enjoyed a superb run as he set a new personal best of 20:46 in his eighth parkrun.
Reepham Runners' Nina Atkinson was first female in 22:15 with Rachel Glegg second in 22:35 in her first ever Blickling parkrun. Elly Young (Coltishall Jaguars) was a second behind Rachel in third place.
Junior Jess Westmoreland reached the 50 landmark in 27:34, as did Helen Alefounder (Reepham Runners) in 28:42.

King's Lynn parkrun
Renegade Runners' Matt Pyatt was first home of the 280 parkrunners at King's Lynn parkrun in an impressive time of 16:58 on Saturday.
Peter Holmes (Ely Runners) was the runner up in 18:15 whilst Paul Keaney took third in his first ever parkrun in 18:44.
Sally Lynn Hurst was first female in 20:42 with Lisa Pyatt (Renegade Runners) second in 22:28 and youngster Mai Loram third (22:34).
Linda Marshall enjoyed her 50th parkrun in 23:51.
