Broadland were without several key players but were still too strong for visitors Dereham III, winning their Premier Division match 7-2.

Lydia Lawrence converted a cross from Natasha Blyth to open the scoring after just five minutes, before Dani Parke's wayward attempt fell invitingly into the path of Lawrence who again stroked the ball home.

Broadland increased their lead early in the second half when last year's leading scorer Parke's miscued shot found its way into the net.

Dereham pulled one back from a penalty stroke but Parke's deft lob at a penalty corner dropped behind the keeper to make it 4-1 before Helen Brockington burst through and scored a brilliant individual goal. Within minutes Parke completed her hat-trick from the penalty spot and Blyth struck home her side's seventh before Dereham pulled another one back.

Broadland are one of three top-flight sides to have won their opening two games, the others being Norwich Dragons III and newly-promoted Lowestoft Railway.

Dragons hammered their fifth team 7-0 with goals from Ally Windsor Waite (2), Sam Franklin (2), Debs Smith, Harriet Green and Jess Haw while Railway edged past Norwich City 2-1, with Olivia Greenway getting the consolation.

City beat Dragons 2-0 in the battle of the fourth teams thanks to goals from Frances Cooke and Annabel Pounder.

Evergreens bounced back from a heavy defeat in their opening fixture by beating UEA II 5-0 while Loddon saw off Harleston Magpies IV 6-1 in the other top-flight fixture.

In Division One, Broadland's second string had to work hard to beat Dereham IV 3-1 (Abi Dennison, Nikki Baker 2). Their star player was goalkeeper Sarah Craig who made numerous saves as her side won for the second week running.

Relegated Carrow also have maximum points after a 3-0 win at UEA III.

Broadland III won 1-0 at North Norfolk II in Division Two (Carolyn Duthie). Norwich Dragons VI beat Herlings 5-2 with two from Jemima Dorman, including a goal of the season contender, and further efforts from Mia McGhee, Gemma Ballard and Harriet Rant.
