Norfolk cricketer Olly Stone bagged his seventh wicket of the match to give England Under-19s a late boost on the second day of the second Youth Test against South Africa at Paarl.

Vauxhall Mallards paceman Stone clean bowled both South African openers in the hosts' second innings after England had secured a narrow first innings lead. The Proteas finished the day on 17 for two, a lead of 14.

England resumed yesterday on 52 for three in response to South Africa's 231. Surrey opener Dominic Sibley progressed from his overnight score of 14 to carry his bat for England, finishing unbeaten on 112 as the tourists posted 234 all out.

Stone, who is captaining the side, once again batted at number 11 following a finger injury sustained in the first Test, which England won by 107 runs.

He made seven, but crucially stayed with Sibley long enough for England to overhaul the hosts' total as the pair added 16 for the last wicket.

Stone, who also took six wickets in the first Test, struck with the third ball of the South African second innings as he bowled Murray Coetzee without scoring.

The Northamptonshire player then removed Andries Gous in the sixth over and he finished the day with figures of two for two from five overs.

Play resumes at 8am today.
